It’s been a pretty busy month for me. I’ve been applying for co-op jobs and unpaid internships everywhere in Vancouver. I’ve had six interviews, and sent out 23 e-mail resume and cover letter packages throughout the city. After weeks of job searching, resume and cover letter writing, and interviewing, I’m pleased to say that I have managed to secure a position.
From October to November, I will be the Marketing Assistant Intern at Canada Wide Media. It’s four days a week, 9 to 5. While it’s unpaid, I think that this is an excellent opportunity for me to learn more about the marketing and publishing industries, and to learn more about marketing in an off-campus setting. I’m definitely looking forward to blogging about the work I do and the things I learn in the office! Speaking of which – this will be my first official “office” job! All the other jobs I’ve had were either on-campus or didn’t have an office, so this should be really exciting!
I’m also very pleased to say that I have secured a co-op position in Singapore. I will be a Research Intern at the National University of Singapore’s Asia Research Institute. This co-op position takes place next semester, from January to April. This internship will be the first I’ll ever get that’s directly related to my major, so I’m definitely looking forward to it too.
Aside from the job hunt, I’ve also been doing online courses. I actually have two papers due tomorrow… so I better get back to writing them!
